It’s our pleasure to invite you to a special holiday edition of In Print, opening December 25th, 2024 at Hansen House in Jerusalem!

After a long year, we’re eager to spread some holiday cheer within our community. What better way to do that than by hosting an event to support local creatives and inspire our audiences?

We’re spotlighting exciting vendors during these three days. This time, our booths will feature objects that go “beyond the book” from crafts and prints, to ceramics and other unique items.

Visitors will have a chance to shop, just in time for the holidays, while supporting creatives from all over the country. We’re also curating a pop-up bookshop featuring a selection of new titles and art book favorites.

This festive event, organized in collaboration with Hansen House, will feature:

Book launches
Lectures
Performances
Workshops
Local artists/artisans/ art makers
Pop-up art bookshop

Stay tuned for more details about the event lineup and vendors. For now, mark your calendars, and get ready to celebrate the arts, support local creatives, and shop with us at Hansen House!

11:00 — Book Launch: Sharon Balaban, Resting Bitch Catalogue

Join us for the launch of the exhibition catalog “Resting Bitch” by video artist Sharon Balaban, curated by the Sala-Manca group. The multi-screen installation, exhibited at Hansen House in 2022 presented a body of work composed as a video lexicon, reconstructing the body within the domestic sphere.

The unique catalog, designed by Studio Amal, is an extensive visual and textual document of the exhibition. It includes a text by the exhibition’s curator, Lea Mauas, and an essay by Dr. Tamara Abramovitz, which provides a theoretical and historical context to key concepts explored in the exhibition. Additionally, it features a piece by poet and publicist Tahel Frosh, who examines original gendered perspectives through the lens of economics and consumerism.

The catalog features an interview between Balaban and artist Efrat Shalem, where the two discuss the video lexicon Balaban has developed over the years, the planning process of Resting Bitch, and the installation’s placement in the unique space collaborating with the designer Ariel Armoni, the curator and the Ma’amuta Center team.
