Astronautit – A Bookstore on a Truck is proud to host the Independent Publishers Book Fair in the garden of Hansen House. This year marks one hundred years of Hebrew Book Week, and we invite all book and reading lovers to a two-day celebration. More than thirty independent publishers and presses will take part in the fair, presenting bold and original literature across all genres: original writing and translation, poetry and nonfiction, young adult and children’s books, comics, and artist books.

Featuring Hanan Elstein, who translated the book from German, and Tadmor Bartel, presenting a puppet theater adaptation of the stories. This event is intended for adults.

A conversation with acclaimed Jerusalem-based translator Dana Caspi, thanks to whom Pippi, the Moomins, Nesbø, Knausgård, and more than one hundred books written in Scandinavian languages have come alive in wonderful Hebrew.
13:00 | Meet Author and Illustrator Orit Bergman
On her book “The Diary of a Shark Catcher” (Asia Publishing)
Orit Bergman will talk about what really happened while working as a diver at the Underwater Observatory in Eilat, and how memories become stories. For ages 8–12.
13:30 | Conversation with Or Segal on her artist book “You Are Approaching a Merging of the Roads”
An artist’s book by Or Segal about queer love and late discoveries.
All events will take place in the Hansen garden. Admission is free.
