The Historical Exhibition
Opening Event: Thursday, 20.7.23, 19:00
The exhibition Facing Reality is the culmination of a prolonged, in-depth process of rich and varied design endeavors by the students in the program. The projects on display attest to the designers’ engagement with their environment. They are connected to reality, they explore it and choose to face it directly, take a stand and intervene through positive design action. The students act upon an inner calling and a sense of responsibility in order to improve, develop and promote a wide range of elements in our complex lived reality, acting as change agents initiating moves that affect the lives of many.
The subjects addressed by the designers in this exhibition are richly diverse and entwined in the lives of us all: education, gender, politics, health, culture, and technology. With regard to each, the limelight is focused ont us, on people, our interactions and areas in our lives that call for intervention and change. Using a variety of research technology, design thinking and impressive creativity, they articulate contemporary moods and call upon the exhibition visitors to pause, to ponder, and reflect upon reality and the changes it requires.
In these tumultuous days of disagreements and conflicts in Israeli society, we invite the audience to face reality together with our program graduates, and join in the spirit of hope and commitment to act for a better present and future.
